Character Development

So I have a story I've been writing, and I'm working on introducing a new character. I'm thinking she'll have a special power having something to do with electricity, but I'm not exactly sure of the specifics just yet.

Self Esteem

I'm trying to get used to working digitally to help speed up my current process. This piece still took me longer than I would have liked, but it is all digital. Guess that's a start.

Digital Painting

I recently got a new Wacom tablet, and wanted to take it for a test run. I used an old drawing I did a while ago. I have a number of them that I want to "ink" and paint, which is part of the reason I bought a new tablet.

The image is a take on the Pandora story. I wanted it to appear dark and spooky, but still cartoon like.

UFO (Unidentified Floating Object)

On the flight home from a recent trip, I was sketching to help pass the time. I was flying from a warm climate to a cold climate, so thoughts of warm tropical waters were occupying my mind. I was also worried throughout the trip that I would leave my cellphone and/or car keys behind.

I thought it might be humorous to combine the 2 ideas and create a scenario where a couple of mermaids stumble across these items floating down to their home. They would seem like odd objects to them indeed, so i felt their reaction should be one of intrigue.

Slave Leia

With all the buzz regarding the new Star Wars, I thought I'd do something theme related. I've been playing around with well known characters lately, plus I received a prompt for Leia in a drawing app I've been using. Of course, as most everyone knows, the most famous is slave Leia, so I went for that.

Alice and the white rabbit

I've always enjoyed the story of Alice in wonderland, probably because of all the visual possibilities it stirs up in your imagination.

I've done a number of drawings and sketches around this theme, and I never seem to get tired of it. Though I'd have to say, it is only one of a number of themes that catches my attention.
